The 238 seat Library Theatre, Luton opened in 1961 and was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on 2nd November 1962 who watched the famous Luton Girls Choir perform.

Over the ensuing years many famous faces have performed in the theatre including Ken Dodd, Bob Monkhouse, Eric Morecambe, Paul Daniels, George Melly, Kenny Ball and many more.

The Library Theatre reopened in October 2023 managed by a group of volunteers called Luton Creative Community for the good of the diverse community….and now we’re there!!!!
