We’re delighted to unveil the exciting new partnership with the Winter Gardens Blackpool and deliver a top-class comedy festival, which not only features top comedians and events but also celebrates the best in upcoming talent from across the UK. We’re excited to be coming to Blackpool, the town’s comedy heritage is legendary – it’s the Vegas of Britain!

In association with Absolute Radio, the festival will take place in the home of British Comedy, Blackpool from Friday 10 May – Sunday 12 May 2019 and will feature a wide variety of top comedy acts as well as the Grand Final of a new comedy award.

The finalists have been selected following a series of heats across the UK.

Jason Manford & Friends will open the Friday 10 May event. The show, hosted by Jason, will feature Britain’s Got Talents Daliso Chaponda, popular Irish comedian David O’Doherty, the wonderful Jo Caulfield and headlined by 8 Out of 10 Cats star comedian Sean Lock.

Saturday 11 May will see John Bishop & Friends take to the Opera House stage. Hosted by comedy superstar John Bishop, the show will feature stand-up legend Mick Miller, BBC’s Mock the Week’s Milton Jones, hilarious Angela Barnes and The Last Leg’s Adam Hills.

Michael Williams from Winter Gardens said: ‘Manford’s Blackpool Comedy Festival is an exciting new addition to our 2019 programme featuring some of the best live acts in the UK. An annual comedy festival adds to the fantastic and diverse range of events already taking place in early season to attract visitors from right across the UK and beyond.’ ‘The partnership with Manford’s Comedy Club and Absolute Radio, brings together a perfect team to deliver a top line up of acts with the view to grow the event year on year.’

An After-show Crowd Karaoke is set to take place in the Arena on Friday 10 May.

What is Massaoke? An amazing live band plays the greatest pop, indie and rock anthems of all time and the crowd sings along, guided by big screen lyrics.

There’s no dreaded karaoke spotlight here – this is Massaoke, where everyone sings and dances their hearts out together in a unique live-gig atmosphere. The result is a euphoric celebration of some of the best songs ever written and an unforgettable night out.

Sing along to all your favourite songs from Abba to David Bowie, Madonna & Queen and everything in-between.

It really doesn’t matter if you can sing or not! Or even dance! What we do know for SURE, is that singing with other people is incredible fun.

Jason Manford said: ‘What better way is there to finish a great night of comedy, other than with a great big crowd karaoke sing-a-long?! Whether you can sing or not, join us in the arena for the after show party and let’s all belt out some classics together!’

A portion of the ticket sales from the After-show Karaoke event are to be donated to two local Blackpool charities –

Brian House, which provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people who have a life-limiting condition.

Streetlife, an organisation which assists vulnerable young people in Blackpool, a lot of whom access the service as homeless.

There will also be 2 Late Shows in the Pavilion Theatre featuring many top comedians. What a perfect way to end the night!!
