Ruth is a familiar face on the UK circuit and UK comedy festivals. A critically acclaimed writer, her solo shows have earned her numerous nominations and awards.
She began performing Stand-up comedy in May 2008. In her first year she was a semi-finalist in both Funny Women and So you think you’re Funny and came third in Mirth on Monday’s New Act Competition.
Her comedy plays have been performed in numerous festivals including Sydney’s ‘Short & Sweet’ Festival, Lost Theatre companies One Act Festival, Buxton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe.
Her play Saturday Boy was also nominated for Best New Writing in Buxtons’ Fringe 2008.
Her writing has even travelled across the globe after one of her plays was picked up by an Australian Theatre Company and performed down under. Her solo show Love Letters From Blackpool was commissioned by the The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester and toured the UK as well as appearing at all the major UK comedy festivals.
