Described as “possibly Newcastle’s finest export since the famous brown ale” Richard Morton has nailed the twin talents of musicianship and comedy into one perfectly suited package. Geordie comedian Richard Morton is a stalwart of the UK comedy circuit with a career spanning over 20 years.

His bounding stage presence, catchy songs and material covering real life situations & quick fire gags has made him a true circuit favourite. Early in his career Morton scooped the prestigious prize as The Time Out Comedian of the Year and was a leading light for The Comedy Store’s Cutting Edge Show.

Along his journey Richard’s career has taken him to support many house hold names including Jack Dee, Phil Jupitus, Lee Evans, Jo Brand and many more. On TV he has appeared on countless shows including Nevermind the Buzzcocks and Jack Dee’s Saturday Night Show. On radio he has featured on BBC Radio 2 & BBC Radio 4.

A big favourite at the Edinburgh Festival, Richard has completed several sell-out runs at the Assembly Rooms. Other music and comedy festivals have included Kilkenny, Latitude, Reading, Leeds and the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.
