John Thomson hailed a 'legend' at the North West Comedy Awards 2019!

Stand-up comedian, impressionist, comedy actor and writer John Thomson is a popular British film and television actor known for his appearances alongside some of Britain’s most popular comedy performers, including Steve Coogan, Paul Whitehouse and Martin Clunes.

John began his career as an actor and comedy writer on the British satirical series Spitting Image, later going on to work closely with Steve Coogan on such shows as Coogan’s Run, the Paul and Pauline Calf Video Diaries and Knowing Me, Knowing You… with Alan Partridge.

Since then John has accrued a number of awards for his work as a stand-up comedian, comedy writer and actor, including a Perrier Comedy Award for his work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

He was a long-standing cast member for the cult British comedy the Fast Show as well as holding a role as a recurring actor in Men Behaving Badly.

He has also appeared in Playing the Field, Big Top and Coronation Street and has become well-known for his role as Pete Gifford in the ITV hit comedy drama series Cold Feet.

His most recent TV appearances were on Plebs (ITV) and Brassic (Sky).
