"Oh man, what a night last night was! Couldn't believe I made it through to the final with all the talent that was there last night and then to go on and win was unreal! "
"I saw Dave deliver gag after gag and it was like a masterclass "
Dave Bawden is now dreaming of swapping his day job for a career in comedy – after winning Manford’s Comedy Club New Act of the Year 2019 competition, which took place at Northwich Memorial Court Theatre in June.
Dave only began doing stand-up comedy in March 2018, signing up to a comedy Open Mic night in his home borough, the Wirral, in secret from friends and family. Since then Dave has performed at over 100 gigs and developed a style of delivering laconic, dark one liners and has started to pursue a lifelong love for joke telling.
Describing himself as a low energy, surreal, Northern story teller, he covers introspective and surreal explorations of childhood, family, friends and life. Hilarious, story based comedy with a very strong delivery.
