Chris Stokes

Very gifted… Has the talent to one day have the world at his feet.

★★★★ The List

One impressive comic!

★★★★ The New Statesman

Real talent..it takes some flair to mix script, tangent, conversation and heartbreak and make it all look so effortless.

★★★★ The Skinny

Brilliantly wry and award winning comic, Chris Stokes has been performing stand-up professionally since 2009.

He most recently supported Milton Jones on his UK tour Milton Jones is Out There and his previous tour Milton Jones and the Temple of Daft along with supporting Pete Firman and Stewart Francis on their UK tours.

Chris has appeared on Dave’s One Night Stand (Channel Dave), BBC Radio 4, 5Live and Radio X (formerly XFM) and taken 5 solo shows up to the Edinburgh Fringe – the first of which won Best Show at the Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival Awards in 2012 and the most recent of which We Don’t Need Roads has just finished a run at Edinburgh.

With a hilarious and erudite turn of phrase, Chris has been described as playing on social misconceptions and dismantling them both on stage and on the page via gag-packed first-hand anecdotes told with a charming and offbeat sincerity.

Chris is also a talented actor having starred in a number of plays and online sketches. In 2017 Chris was named on the BBC’s New Talent Hot-List and has had a number of online shorts released through the BBC including a Top Ten and 4 sketches for their hugely successful Quickies series.

Chris has written for the The News Quiz, The Now Show and Have I Got News For You.

He is also one of a handful of vegan comedians who has performed at Vegfest and taken part in fundraisers for The Vegan Society and Humane Society International. He recently made a short film for BBC Three on the subject of being a vegan.
